The Computer science and engineering and Information Technology departments have a good number of highly qualified and experienced faculty members with best available exposure to ever-growing horizon of computer science and engineering. The department keeps itself in pace with the IT changes and regularly updates its laboratories with the latest computing facilities and software technologies. The Computer Laboratories cater to the needs of students as well as provide internet access round-the-clock in the campus and Wi-Fi Connectivity to the hostel students overnight.

The Department provides state of the art computing facilities to the students. It also promotes active industry-institute collaboration by identifying areas of interest and taking part in training the students in the emerging fields.

Some of the major areas which the faculty members and students working on are Data Structures, Algorithms, Networks, Database, Theoretical Computer Science, Object oriented programming, Software Engineering and Computer Graphics.

The Department regularly organizes a series of lectures by academicians and professionals of the highest repute, which lay stress on the latest innovative technologies in the field of Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology.

The departments also organize various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that include Inter-College Symposium, programming contest, workshop and seminars.

Facilities

The departments have three computer labs equipped with modern personal computers and servers. The computer lab 1 is equipped with large number of latest Core 2 Duo processors and highly protected windows 2008 server. The computer lab 2 is equipped with the powerful server and clients that facilitate the latest eco-friendly, centralized and highly secure thin-client technology. The computer lab 3 is the Open-Source laboratory that is equipped with large number of latest Core 2 Duo processors and various emerging open-source software.
