Admission Norms

QUALIFYING EXAMINATION

A pass in the final examination of the 10+2 system with Maths, Physics and Chemistry or Vocational subjects with any one of the related subjects such as Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry conducted by any recognized Central/ State Board Examination or any other equivalent qualification for Engineering Admissions approved by the Higher Secondary Board of Tamil Nadu/Anna University.

ELIGIBILITY

Minimum eligible marks for candidates of HSE (Academic/equivalent examinations)

• For Other Communities: A minimum average of 55% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
• For BC Communities: A minimum average of 50% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
• For MBC & DNC Communities: A minimum average of 45% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
• For SC/ST Communities: A mere pass in the qualifying examination.

Minimum eligible marks for candidates of HSE (Vocational)

• For Other Communities: A minimum average of 50% in the related subjects and Vocational theory and practical
• For BC Communities: A minimum average of 50% in the related subjects and Vocational theory and practical
• For MBC & DNC Communities: A minimum average of 45% in the related subjects and Vocational theory and practical
• For SC/ST Communities: A mere pass in the qualifying examination.

Note: When the candidates produce Grade certificates, only the minimum marks applicable to the grades in the eligible subjects(Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) will be taken into account.

If any Board awards only letter grades without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the equivalent marks. In case the candidate does not produce such a certificate, then the decision of the competent authority regarding the eligibility shall be final.
