Nature and Extent of involvement of faculty and students in academic affairs/ improvements
- Students bring specific problems to the notice of the tutor / faculty concerned. The faculty after discussing the matter brings it to the notice of HoD. Further discussions take place in the departmental meetings and if required in the presence of students. If the department is not able to sort out the problems at their level, the matter is discussed with the Principal and necessary action is taken at college level.
- The members of Faculty are free to discuss academic affairs first at departmental / HoD level and then with the Principal if necessary for further action.
- The activities of Group Discussion, Seminar, Guest Lecture, Campus Program, Industrial Visit and Personality Development Programmes, etc. are the integral part of the institutional activities, which help to improve the involvement of faculty and students in academic affairs.
Mechanism/Norms & Procedure for democratic/good Governance
- Students are kept well informed about the activities through notices, announcements by the teachers in the classes and through tutor guardians.
- Parents of the students are also intimated of their wards’ activities from time to time. Meetings with parents are also held from time to time. Parents are free to contact the Principal for any problem related to their wards.
Student Feedback on Institutional Governance/faculty performance
- Student feedback on institutional Governance is effected by the interaction of the Principal and the HoDs with the representatives of the students of various departments, hostels and classes.
- Student feedback is taken by the HoD in a prescribed proforma and the faculty’s performance is judged based on Behaviour & Skills, Feedback on Laboratory work, Feedback on lectures, Tutorials and Efficacy of their roles as Tutors. The same is discussed with the administration for necessary action in the matter. The students can directly approach the Principal in case the matter is of urgent and grave concern. The Faculty are informed of the feedback from the students so that necessary corrections, checks and improvements may be effected.
Grievance redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students
- Grievances are to be put in black and white and submitted to the HoD in case of students, faculty and staff. The matter is then put before the Principal with appropriate comments by the HoD. The grievances are dealt with immediately at the Principal’s level If the grievances are of a grave nature then a committee considers the matter for a quick and effective solution.
